diary week 2

we went from fagernut to hallingskeid and vatnahalsen. in vatnahalsen is a famous waterfall! there were many tourists. there was a really giant downhill for us...and very steeply. i had to make a lot of breaks, because of my brakes: they made the rims hot. this could be dangerous in situations like these. the tube could burst. so i cooled the rims down with my drinking water.

from vatnahalsen, we went to flåm. it's a very small, but famous village at the end of the large sognefjorden! we camped on the camping place. we were very lucky to be able to buy some beer! on the way back to the camping place, chris had his second flat tire. we repaired it.
 

we had to get up at 6 am! this day's only bus, wich went this way (to geiteryghytta), was leaving at 8.30 am. we tooked the bus this short way up, because the women of the camping reception gave us this advice. the reason was, that there are about 7 tunnels. it's very dangerous. in geiteryghytta, we left the bus and got back on our bikes, but: chris had his third flat tire!! we analyzed the reason for that better this time. the rim-protection-bound was slipped. we repaired it and got back on the bikes. we choosed to camp in hol. we tried to catch some fishes...not sucessfull again.
 

departure from hol: 10 am. we went on the road 7 (much traffic) to torpo. after torpo, we were stopped by an old man on the cycling lane. hes was about 50 or sixty years old. we stopped and he began to talk to us, without a break. in norwegian! we have tried to tell him, that we do not understand this language. after some minutes, he understood. he said he saw us on the way and stopped because of us. he wanted to know, where i have bought my map holder. he did not stop to talk...even not in english :-)! he told, he was about seventeen times on the rallarvegen and he was an inspired cyclist. he explained us a route, where we should go, if we had time. we had time! so, we took this route: from gol on road 52 to hemsedal. at robru, right to jondalen. we arrived at the storevatn lake. it was very difficult to find a place for our camp.

when we stopped, i saw that i had my first (and only) flat tire. i had something to repair. but first, we took a bath in the lake. it was very beautiful.
 

we left the camp at 10 am. from bjørgo to etnedal, we had to rise about 500 m's. it was very hot. we went to the camping in odnes. this stage was the biggest: 109 km's.
 

we decided to make a day break. but the camping in odnes was not that nice. we left it at 10:30 am and went to fluberg (on road 33) and then on road 34 to bjørnerud. we went to hov for shopping. the camping here is really nice! directly at the lake. today, i had heavy legs...the day break was a good decision.

we tried to catch fishes again...but the fishes had a party somewhere else! we decided to stay here one day again.
 

we stayed the whole day on the camping place. only exception: shopping in hov. we decided to travel to oslo in the next days.
 

we left the camping place at 10 am. we went to hurdal. this day nothing special has happened. tomorrow, we went to go to oslo!
