these two days we spent with recovering us from the journey, washing chlothes and some sightseeing in the city of santiago. we were in the hostal "
el patio suizo" in the "barrio la providencia". this hostal is swiss driven and better than the most expensive hotel until now. in the evening we went out. you better ask where to go out and where to keep away from. in a 5-million-city there are quarters of every class of population. together with the hostal boss armin, we made a traditional "
asado" in the evening.
this was my last day in chile. so i already had to the preparation for my journey back to switzerland:
i had an unpleasant feeling, because i knew, that i will have to go back home. even if i'm finally accustomed for this kind of travelling. christian stayed almost two months longer. the day after he travelled to buenos aires (argentina) to do a language course in spanish.
christian had to leave earlier. he went to argentina by bus. i had some hours more to wait for the airport shuttle. i walked a bit through the city and stopped in a chinese restaurant. i got back accurate. even if there is still a lot to do in the social part of chile and there is potential in the economy, so chile is a great country. it's a country of differences and variations. this not only geographical.
as i arrived at the airport, i had to check-in my luggage. i was happy again when it was done. during the flight i had to sit beside an old chilean women. she visitted a friend of her in frankfurt, germany. she seemed to be one of the richer part of chile. i had to tell everything about my journey and she didn't stop to tell me the story of her life. i was really happy when the flight was over.
after a short break in madrid barachas airport, the second flight left to zurich, switzerland. again with iberia airlines. two hours later i've arrived in zurich. only the customs officer asked me for the content of the chilean bicycle boxes. i told him about my journey and somehow he believed me.
now the biggest journey of my life was finished. but this time i already knew, that i won't be the last journey of that kind. some time later i've started my project "bike & dive 2007/8". you already find some further information about this project on this website.
argentina, me gustas mucho y chile, ti gente me ha encantado...nunca voy a olvidaros!
