last week i spent at london heathrow in the sap course (ep120, sap netweaver portal development. there is not really so much to see or do around heathrow, but trains enable quick journies to london central. even for an evening trip. london has a lot to give, but pubs still close really early and so does unfortunately public transportation. at a late night, a taxi is the only opportunity. one of the best and most simple transport solutions i have ever seen is really london underground, which is simple to understand, affordable and mostly on time. really crowded at peak times, where fares are almost double and your head can get pressed in a 45° angle up to the door - that is how crowded it can be. avoiding underground at peak times is the solution if you can. sightseeing in london can be done from one or two days really quick, but to see most of the interesting sights better calculate 4 days. as the pound is quite weak at the moment, london has become very affordable and so does shopping there. there are cool stores, especially at covent garden station. i am a big "superdry"-fan.
saturday i was overwhelmed by naked cyclists. it was the world naked bike ride, which was also held in london of course.
use the link below to get directly to the photo gallery to see some touristy pictures of london (including pictures from the world naked bike ride :-).
